Overview

The AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9945 is a desktop processor with 12 cores, released in 2025 at an MSRP of N/A. It is part of the Ryzen 9 lineup, using the Ryzen 9000 platform, and fits the AM5 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Zen 5" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 24 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 9 PRO 9945 has a base clock of 3.4 GHz and can boost up to 5.4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Zen 5" silicon on a TSMC 4nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR5 memory. ECC memory is supported, provided the motherboard enables it. With a TDP of 65W, the Ryzen 9 PRO 9945 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. Integrated graphics are provided by the Radeon Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy consists of 768KB of L1, 12MB of L2, and 64MB of L3 cache — an unusually large L3 that greatly benefits latency-sensitive workloads like gaming.

PRO commercial 65W variant (Granite Ridge, 12 cores). OEM / commercial channel; locked multiplier.
