Pentium G3220

Intel · Pentium G · 2013 · LGA1150

Overview

The Intel Pentium G3220 is a desktop processor with 2 cores, released in 2013 at an MSRP of $64. It is part of the Pentium G lineup, using the Pentium G platform, and fits the LGA1150 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Haswell" architecture. It operates at a fixed 3 GHz. Intel manufactures the "Haswell" silicon on a 22nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR3 memory. With a TDP of 54W, the Pentium G3220 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. Integrated graphics are provided by the Intel HD Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy consists of 32KB/core of L1, 256KB/core of L2, and 3MB of L3 cache.

Entry-level Haswell Pentium. No Hyper-Threading on any Haswell-era Pentium — that milestone came with Kaby Lake in 2017.
