Core i7-1270P

Intel · Core i7 · 2022 · FCBGA1744

Overview

The Intel Core i7-1270P is a mobile (laptop) processor with 12 cores (4 Performance-cores and 8 Efficiency-cores), released in 2022. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 12th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1744 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Alder Lake-P" architecture. Only the 4 P-cores support Hyper-Threading, while the 8 E-cores handle a single thread each, together yielding 16 threads: the P-cores tackle latency-sensitive and lightly-threaded work, while the E-cores take on background and highly parallel tasks. The Core i7-1270P has a base clock of 2.2 GHz and can boost up to 4.8 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Alder Lake-P" silicon on a Intel 7 process node. This processor supports DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR4X/LPDDR5 memory. With a base TDP of 28W and a minimum assured power 20W, maximum turbo power 64W, which the laptop maker sets to suit its cooling design, the Core i7-1270P is a balanced power envelope suited to mainstream laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Iris Xe Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 18MB of L3 cache.
