Core i7-12800H

Intel · Core i7 · 2022 · FCBGA1744

Overview

The Intel Core i7-12800H is a mobile (laptop) processor with 14 cores (6 Performance-cores and 8 Efficiency-cores), released in 2022. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 12th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1744 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Alder Lake-H" architecture. Only the 6 P-cores support Hyper-Threading, while the 8 E-cores handle a single thread each, together yielding 20 threads: the P-cores tackle latency-sensitive and lightly-threaded work, while the E-cores take on background and highly parallel tasks. The Core i7-12800H has a base clock of 2.4 GHz and can boost up to 4.8 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Alder Lake-H" silicon on a Intel 7 process node. This processor supports DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR4X/LPDDR5 memory. With a base TDP of 45W and a minimum assured power 35W, maximum turbo power 115W, which the laptop maker sets to suit its cooling design, the Core i7-12800H is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Iris Xe Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 24MB of L3 cache.
