Overview

The AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 2700X is a desktop processor with 8 cores, released in 2018. It is part of the Ryzen 7 lineup, using the Ryzen 2000 platform, and fits the AM4 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Zen+" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 16 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 7 PRO 2700X has a base clock of 3.6 GHz and can boost up to 4.1 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Zen+" silicon on a 12nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR4 memory. ECC memory is supported, provided the motherboard enables it. With a TDP of 95W, the Ryzen 7 PRO 2700X sits in a typical power envelope for a modern desktop CPU. This processor has no integrated graphics — a discrete GPU is required. The cache hierarchy consists of 96KB/core of L1, 4MB of L2, and 16MB of L3 cache.

PRO commercial 95W variant. OEM / commercial channel; locked multiplier.
