Core i9-13900

Intel · Core i9 · 2023 · LGA1700

Overview

The Intel Core i9-13900 is a desktop processor with 24 cores (8 Performance-cores and 16 Efficiency-cores), released in 2023 at an MSRP of $399. It is part of the Core i9 lineup, using the 13th Gen platform, and fits the LGA1700 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Raptor Lake" architecture. Only the 8 P-cores support Hyper-Threading, while the 16 E-cores handle a single thread each, together yielding 32 threads: the P-cores tackle latency-sensitive and lightly-threaded work, while the E-cores take on background and highly parallel tasks. The Core i9-13900 has a base clock of 2 GHz and can boost up to 5.6 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Raptor Lake" silicon on a Intel 7 process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR4/DDR5 memory. With a TDP of 65W, the Core i9-13900 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. Integrated graphics are provided by the UHD 770 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy consists of 80KB/core of L1, 32MB of L2, and 36MB of L3 cache.
