The Intel Core i7-2600S is a desktop processor with 4 cores, released in 2011. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 2nd Gen platform, and fits the LGA1155 socket. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism.
