Core i5-7300U

Intel · Core i5 · 2017 · FCBGA1356 / FPBGA1356

Overview

The Intel Core i5-7300U is a mobile (laptop) processor with 2 cores, released in 2017. It is part of the Core i5 lineup, using the 7th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1356 / FPBGA1356 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Kaby Lake-U" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 4 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i5-7300U has a base clock of 2.6 GHz and can boost up to 3.5 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Kaby Lake-U" silicon on a 14 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3L/LPDDR3/DDR4 memory. With a base TDP of 15W the Core i5-7300U is an ultra-low-power design aimed at thin-and-light laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD Graphics 620 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 3MB of L3 cache.

Configurable TDP down to 7.5 W, up to 25 W.
