Xeon W-3335

Intel · Xeon W · 2021 · LGA4189

Overview

The Intel Xeon W-3335 is a desktop processor with 16 cores, released in 2021 at an MSRP of $1,299. It is part of the Xeon W lineup, using the Xeon W platform, and fits the LGA4189 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Ice Lake-W" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 32 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon W-3335 has a base clock of 3.4 GHz and can boost up to 4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Ice Lake-W" silicon on a 10nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR4 memory. With a TDP of 250W, the Xeon W-3335 runs hot and requires a capable cooling setup. This processor has no integrated graphics — a discrete GPU is required. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 24MB of L3 cache.
