Xeon Silver 4210

Intel · Xeon Silver · 2019 · LGA3647

Overview

The Intel Xeon Silver 4210 is a server processor with 10 cores, released in 2019 at an MSRP of $501. It is part of the Xeon Silver lineup, using the Xeon Scalable platform, and fits the LGA3647 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Cascade Lake" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 20 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon Silver 4210 has a base clock of 2.2 GHz and can boost up to 3.2 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Cascade Lake" silicon on a 14nm process node. This processor supports DDR4 memory across 6 channels, up to 1TB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations, with 48 lanes of PCIe 3.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 85W, the Xeon Silver 4210 sits in a typical power envelope for a modern desktop CPU. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 13.75MB of L3 cache.

2nd Gen Xeon Scalable 'Cascade Lake' — adds AVX-512 VNNI for AI inference and Optane Persistent Memory support over the original Skylake-SP generation.
