Xeon Silver 4514Y

Intel · Xeon Silver · 2023 · LGA4677

Overview

The Intel Xeon Silver 4514Y is a server processor with 16 cores, released in 2023. It is part of the Xeon Silver lineup, using the Xeon Scalable platform, and fits the LGA4677 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Emerald Rapids" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 32 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon Silver 4514Y has a base clock of 2 GHz and can boost up to 3.4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Emerald Rapids" silicon on a Intel 7 process node. This processor supports DDR5 memory across 8 channels, up to 4TB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations, with 80 lanes of PCIe 5.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 150W, the Xeon Silver 4514Y runs hot and requires a capable cooling setup. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 30MB of L3 cache.

5th Gen Xeon Scalable 'Emerald Rapids' — drop-in compatible with Sapphire Rapids LGA4677 boards via BIOS update, with a significantly larger L3 cache.
