Xeon Silver 4112

Intel · Xeon Silver · 2017 · LGA3647

Overview

The Intel Xeon Silver 4112 is a server processor with 4 cores, released in 2017 at an MSRP of $473. It is part of the Xeon Silver lineup, using the Xeon Scalable platform, and fits the LGA3647 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Skylake-SP" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon Silver 4112 has a base clock of 2.6 GHz and can boost up to 3 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Skylake-SP" silicon on a 14nm process node. This processor supports DDR4 memory across 6 channels, up to 768GB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations, with 48 lanes of PCIe 3.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 85W, the Xeon Silver 4112 sits in a typical power envelope for a modern desktop CPU. The cache hierarchy consists of 64KB/core of L1, 1MB/core of L2, and 8.25MB of L3 cache.

1st-generation Xeon Scalable (Skylake-SP) Silver part with 4 cores at 2.6GHz base / 3.0GHz turbo and 8.25MB L3 in a 85W envelope, launched 2017. Silver-tier parts run DDR4-2400 memory with two UPI links and are limited to dual-socket systems.
