Xeon Gold 6403N

Intel · Xeon Gold · 2023 · LGA4677

Overview

The Intel Xeon Gold 6403N is a server processor with 24 cores, released in 2023. It is part of the Xeon Gold lineup, using the Xeon Scalable platform, and fits the LGA4677 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Sapphire Rapids" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 48 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon Gold 6403N has a base clock of 1.9 GHz and can boost up to 3.6 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Sapphire Rapids" silicon on a Intel 7 process node. This processor supports DDR5 memory across 8 channels, up to 4TB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations, with 80 lanes of PCIe 5.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 185W, the Xeon Gold 6403N runs hot and requires a capable cooling setup. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 45MB of L3 cache.

4th Gen Xeon Scalable 'Sapphire Rapids' — Intel's first Xeon generation with DDR5, PCIe 5.0, and on-die AMX AI acceleration.
