Xeon D-1520

Intel · Xeon D · 2015 · BGA1667

Overview

The Intel Xeon D-1520 is a server processor with 4 cores, released in 2015. It is part of the Xeon D lineup, using the Xeon D platform, and fits the BGA1667 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Broadwell-DE" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon D-1520 has a base clock of 2.2 GHz and can boost up to 2.6 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Broadwell-DE" silicon on a 14nm process node. This processor supports DDR4 memory across 2 channels, up to 128GB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports single-socket (1P) configurations, with 24 lanes of PCIe 3.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 45W, the Xeon D-1520 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 1.5MB of L3 cache.

Xeon D-1500 — Intel's first low-power SoC Xeon for dense microserver and network appliance deployments.
