Xeon D-1577

Intel · Xeon D · 2016 · BGA1667

Overview

The Intel Xeon D-1577 is a server processor with 16 cores, released in 2016. It is part of the Xeon D lineup, using the Xeon D platform, and fits the BGA1667 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Broadwell-DE" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 32 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon D-1577 has a base clock of 1.3 GHz and can boost up to 2.1 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Broadwell-DE" silicon on a 14nm process node. This processor supports DDR4 memory across 2 channels, up to 128GB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports single-socket (1P) configurations, with 24 lanes of PCIe 3.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 45W, the Xeon D-1577 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 1.5MB of L3 cache.

A 16-core Broadwell-DE embedded SoC aimed at dense microserver and network-appliance deployments, sharing its clock and TDP profile with the D-1571 but differing in specific onboard accelerator feature support.
