Overview

The AMD TR PRO 9995WX is a desktop processor with 96 cores, released in 2025 at an MSRP of $9,999. It is part of the Threadripper PRO lineup, using the TR PRO 9000 platform, and fits the sTR5 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Zen 5" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 192 threads for improved parallelism. The TR PRO 9995WX has a base clock of 2.5 GHz and can boost up to 5.4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Zen 5" silicon on a TSMC 4nm process node. The multiplier is unlocked, making overclocking straightforward. This processor supports DDR5 memory. ECC memory is supported, provided the motherboard enables it. With a TDP of 350W, the TR PRO 9995WX runs hot and requires a capable cooling setup. This processor has no integrated graphics — a discrete GPU is required. The cache hierarchy consists of 64KB/core of L1, 96MB of L2, and 384MB of L3 cache — an unusually large L3 that greatly benefits latency-sensitive workloads like gaming.

96-core workstation flagship — the most cores ever in a consumer-accessible desktop CPU at launch. 8-channel DDR5, 128 PCIe 5.0 lanes, 384MB L3. AMD claims 10-20% multi-core performance gains over the 7995WX predecessor.
