Overview

The AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G is a desktop processor with 4 cores, released in 2019. It is part of the Ryzen 5 lineup, using the Ryzen 3000 platform, and fits the AM4 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Zen+" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G has a base clock of 3.7 GHz and can boost up to 4.2 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Zen+" silicon on a 12nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR4 memory. ECC memory is supported, provided the motherboard enables it. With a TDP of 65W, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3400G is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. Integrated graphics are provided by the Radeon RX Vega 11 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy consists of 96KB/core of L1, 2MB of L2, and 4MB of L3 cache.

PRO commercial 65W variant. OEM / commercial channel; locked multiplier.
