Overview

The AMD Phenom X4 9750 is a desktop processor with 4 cores, released in 2008 at an MSRP of $165. It is part of the Phenom lineup, using the Phenom X4 platform, and fits the AM2+ socket. Internally, it is built on the "K10" architecture. It operates at a fixed 2.4 GHz. AMD manufactures the "K10" silicon on a 65nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR2 memory. With a TDP of 95W, the Phenom X4 9750 sits in a typical power envelope for a modern desktop CPU. This processor has no integrated graphics — a discrete GPU is required. The cache hierarchy consists of 64KB/core of L1, 2MB of L2, and 2MB of L3 cache.

95W mainstream Phenom quad-core. The small 2MB L3 cache was a notable bottleneck vs Intel's Core 2 Quad.
