Opteron 6338P

AMD · Opteron · 2014 · Socket G34

Overview

The AMD Opteron 6338P is a server processor with 12 cores, released in 2014 at an MSRP of $377. It is part of the Opteron lineup, using the Opteron 6300 platform, and fits the Socket G34 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Piledriver" architecture. The Opteron 6338P has a base clock of 2.3 GHz and can boost up to 2.8 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Piledriver" silicon on a 32nm process node. This processor supports DDR3 memory across 4 channels, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations. With a TDP of 99W, the Opteron 6338P sits in a typical power envelope for a modern desktop CPU. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, 2MB/module of L2, and 16MB of L3 cache.

12-core Piledriver Opteron (Warsaw) at 2.3GHz (up to 2.8GHz with Turbo Core) on Socket G34, launched January 2014. Warsaw is a 2014 low-power refresh of Abu Dhabi, cutting TDP to 99W for dense deployments. It was the final Opteron 6000 release. Like the rest of the 6000 series, it targets high-performance two- and four-socket servers.
