Opteron 3380

AMD · Opteron · 2012 · Socket AM3+

Overview

The AMD Opteron 3380 is a server processor with 8 cores, released in 2012 at an MSRP of $229. It is part of the Opteron lineup, using the Opteron 3300 platform, and fits the Socket AM3+ socket. Internally, it is built on the "Piledriver" architecture. The Opteron 3380 has a base clock of 2.6 GHz and can boost up to 3.6 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Piledriver" silicon on a 32nm process node. This processor supports DDR3 memory across 2 channels, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports single-socket (1P) configurations. With a TDP of 65W, the Opteron 3380 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, 2MB/module of L2, and 8MB of L3 cache.

8-core Piledriver Opteron (Delhi) at 2.6GHz (up to 3.6GHz with Turbo Core) on Socket AM3+, launched December 2012. Delhi is the Piledriver refresh of the single-socket AM3+ Opteron line, improving IPC and clocks over Zurich. It is limited to single-socket systems.
