Overview

The AMD FX-9370 is a desktop processor with 8 cores, released in 2013 at an MSRP of $199. It is part of the FX lineup, using the FX platform, and fits the AM3+ socket. Internally, it is built on the "Piledriver" architecture. The FX-9370 has a base clock of 4.4 GHz and can boost up to 4.7 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Piledriver" silicon on a 32nm process node. The multiplier is unlocked, making overclocking straightforward. This processor supports DDR3 memory. With a TDP of 220W, the FX-9370 runs hot and requires a capable cooling setup. This processor has no integrated graphics — a discrete GPU is required. The cache hierarchy consists of 32KB/core of L1, 8MB of L2, and 8MB of L3 cache.

220W TDP required water cooling — AMD only recommended it with liquid cooling. Same Vishera die as FX-9590 at slightly lower clocks.
