Core i7-8850H

Intel · Core i7 · 2018 · FCBGA1440

Overview

The Intel Core i7-8850H is a mobile (laptop) processor with 6 cores, released in 2018. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 8th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1440 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Coffee Lake-H" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 12 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i7-8850H has a base clock of 2.6 GHz and can boost up to 4.3 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Coffee Lake-H" silicon on a 14 nm process node. This processor supports DDR4/LPDDR3 memory. With a base TDP of 45W the Core i7-8850H is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the UHD Graphics 630 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 9MB of L3 cache.
