Intel · Core i7 · 2017 · FCBGA1440
The Intel Core i7-7920HQ is a mobile (laptop) processor with 4 cores, released in 2017. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 7th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1440 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Kaby Lake-H" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i7-7920HQ has a base clock of 3.1 GHz and can boost up to 4.1 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Kaby Lake-H" silicon on a 14 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3L/LPDDR3/DDR4 memory. With a base TDP of 45W the Core i7-7920HQ is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD Graphics 630 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 8MB of L3 cache.
Configurable TDP down to 35 W.
