Core i7-4800MQ

Intel · Core i7 · 2013 · FCPGA946

Overview

The Intel Core i7-4800MQ is a mobile (laptop) processor with 4 cores, released in 2013. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 4th Gen platform, and uses the FCPGA946 package, which fits a socket on the laptop's motherboard rather than being soldered. Internally, it is built on the "Haswell-M" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i7-4800MQ has a base clock of 2.7 GHz and can boost up to 3.7 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Haswell-M" silicon on a 22 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3L memory. With a base TDP of 47W the Core i7-4800MQ is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD Graphics 4600 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 6MB of L3 cache.
