Core i7-5950HQ

Intel · Core i7 · 2015 · FCBGA1364

Overview

The Intel Core i7-5950HQ is a mobile (laptop) processor with 4 cores, released in 2015. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 5th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1364 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Broadwell-H" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i7-5950HQ has a base clock of 2.9 GHz and can boost up to 3.8 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Broadwell-H" silicon on a 14 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3L/LPDDR3 memory. With a base TDP of 47W the Core i7-5950HQ is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Iris Pro Graphics 6200 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 6MB of L3 cache.
