The Intel Core i5-2435M is a mobile (laptop) processor with 2 cores, released in 2011. It is part of the Core i5 lineup, using the 2nd Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1023 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Sandy Bridge-M" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 4 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i5-2435M has a base clock of 2.4 GHz and can boost up to 3 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Sandy Bridge-M" silicon on a 32 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3 memory. With a base TDP of 35W the Core i5-2435M is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD Graphics 3000 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 3MB of L3 cache.
