Core i3-4130

Intel · Core i3 · 2013 · LGA1150

Overview

The Intel Core i3-4130 is a desktop processor with 2 cores, released in 2013 at an MSRP of $117. It is part of the Core i3 lineup, using the 4th Gen platform, and fits the LGA1150 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Haswell" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 4 threads for improved parallelism. It operates at a fixed 3.4 GHz. Intel manufactures the "Haswell" silicon on a 22nm process node. Its multiplier is locked, so any overclocking has to come from raising the base clock rather than the multiplier. This processor supports DDR3 memory. With a TDP of 54W, the Core i3-4130 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD 4400 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy consists of 32KB/core of L1, 0.5MB of L2, and 3MB of L3 cache.

Entry-level Haswell — dual-core with HT, fixed 3.4 GHz, no Turbo.
