Xeon Gold 5320H

Intel · Xeon Gold · 2020 · LGA4189

Overview

The Intel Xeon Gold 5320H is a server processor with 20 cores, released in 2020. It is part of the Xeon Gold lineup, using the Xeon Scalable platform, and fits the LGA4189 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Cooper Lake" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 40 threads for improved parallelism. The Xeon Gold 5320H has a base clock of 2.4 GHz and can boost up to 4.2 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Cooper Lake" silicon on a 14nm process node. This processor supports DDR4 memory across 6 channels, up to 4.5TB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations, with 48 lanes of PCIe 3.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 150W, the Xeon Gold 5320H runs hot and requires a capable cooling setup. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 27.5MB of L3 cache.

Cooper Lake — 14nm Xeon variant optimised for 4-socket and 8-socket scale-up servers, notable for adding bfloat16 AI acceleration ahead of the Ice Lake-SP mainstream refresh.
