Xeon Bronze 3206R

Intel · Xeon Bronze · 2020 · LGA3647

Overview

The Intel Xeon Bronze 3206R is a server processor with 8 cores, released in 2020. It is part of the Xeon Bronze lineup, using the Xeon Scalable platform, and fits the LGA3647 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Cascade Lake" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 16 threads for improved parallelism. It operates at a fixed 1.9 GHz. Intel manufactures the "Cascade Lake" silicon on a 14nm process node. This processor supports DDR4 memory across 6 channels, up to 1TB total, with ECC support standard for data integrity in server workloads. It supports both single-socket (1P) and dual-socket (2P) configurations, with 48 lanes of PCIe 3.0 available for storage, networking and accelerators. With a TDP of 85W, the Xeon Bronze 3206R sits in a typical power envelope for a modern desktop CPU. The cache hierarchy consists of no dedicated of L1, no dedicated of L2, and 11MB of L3 cache.

2nd Gen Xeon Scalable 'Cascade Lake' — adds AVX-512 VNNI for AI inference and Optane Persistent Memory support over the original Skylake-SP generation.
