Overview

The AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 6950H is a mobile (laptop) processor with 8 cores, released in 2022. It is part of the Ryzen 9 lineup, using the Ryzen 6000 platform, and uses the FP7 / FP7r2 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Rembrandt" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 16 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 9 PRO 6950H has a base clock of 3.3 GHz and can boost up to 4.9 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Rembrandt" silicon on a 6 nm process node. This processor supports DDR5/LPDDR5 memory. With a base TDP of 45W the Ryzen 9 PRO 6950H is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Radeon 680M solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 16MB of L3 cache.
