Overview

The AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is a mobile (laptop) processor with 16 cores, released in 2023. It is part of the Ryzen 9 lineup, using the Ryzen 7000 platform, and uses the FL1 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Dragon Range" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 32 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 9 7945HX3D has a base clock of 2.3 GHz and can boost up to 5.4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Dragon Range" silicon on a 5 nm process node. This processor supports DDR5 memory. With a base TDP of 55W and a configurable TDP of 55–75W, which the laptop maker sets to suit its cooling design, the Ryzen 9 7945HX3D is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Radeon 610M solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 1024KB of L1, 16MB of L2 and 128MB of L3 cache.
