Overview

The AMD Ryzen 9 4900H is a mobile (laptop) processor with 8 cores, released in 2020. It is part of the Ryzen 9 lineup, using the Ryzen 4000 platform, and uses the FP6 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Renoir" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 16 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 9 4900H has a base clock of 3.3 GHz and can boost up to 4.4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Renoir" silicon on a 7 nm process node. This processor supports DDR4/LPDDR4X memory. With a base TDP of 54W and a configurable TDP of 35–54W, which the laptop maker sets to suit its cooling design, the Ryzen 9 4900H is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Radeon Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 8MB of L3 cache.
