Overview

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700U is a mobile (laptop) processor with 8 cores, released in 2021. It is part of the Ryzen 7 lineup, using the Ryzen 5000 platform, and uses the FP6 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Lucienne" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 16 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 7 5700U has a base clock of 1.8 GHz and can boost up to 4.3 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Lucienne" silicon on a 7 nm process node. This processor supports DDR4/LPDDR4X memory. With a base TDP of 15W and a configurable TDP of 10–25W, which the laptop maker sets to suit its cooling design, the Ryzen 7 5700U is an ultra-low-power design aimed at thin-and-light laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the Radeon Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 8MB of L3 cache.
