Overview

The AMD Ryzen 3 4100 is a desktop processor with 4 cores, released in 2022 at an MSRP of $99. It is part of the Ryzen 3 lineup, using the Ryzen 4000G platform, and fits the AM4 socket. Internally, it is built on the "Zen 2" architecture. Thanks to AMD Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT), each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Ryzen 3 4100 has a base clock of 3.8 GHz and can boost up to 4 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. AMD manufactures the "Zen 2" silicon on a 7nm process node. The multiplier is unlocked, making overclocking straightforward. This processor supports DDR4 memory. ECC memory is also supported, important for mission-critical workloads. With a TDP of 65W, the Ryzen 3 4100 is an efficient chip suitable for modest cooling solutions. This processor has no integrated graphics — a discrete GPU is required. The cache hierarchy consists of 64KB/core of L1, 2MB of L2, and 8MB of L3 cache.

A cut-down Zen 2 APU with integrated graphics disabled, effectively the graphics-free counterpart to the Ryzen 3 4300G at the same clock speeds and core count.
