Core i9-13950HX

Intel · Core i9 · 2023 · FCBGA1964

Overview

The Intel Core i9-13950HX is a mobile (laptop) processor with 24 cores (8 Performance-cores and 16 Efficiency-cores), released in 2023. It is part of the Core i9 lineup, using the 13th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1964 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Raptor Lake-HX" architecture. Only the 8 P-cores support Hyper-Threading, while the 16 E-cores handle a single thread each, together yielding 32 threads: the P-cores tackle latency-sensitive and lightly-threaded work, while the E-cores take on background and highly parallel tasks. The Core i9-13950HX has a base clock of 2.2 GHz and can boost up to 5.5 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Raptor Lake-HX" silicon on a Intel 7 process node. This processor supports DDR4/DDR5/LPDDR4X/LPDDR5X memory. With a base TDP of 55W and a minimum assured power 45W, maximum turbo power 157W, which the laptop maker sets to suit its cooling design, the Core i9-13950HX is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the UHD Graphics solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 36MB of L3 cache.
