Core i7-3615QM

Intel · Core i7 · 2012 · FCBGA1224

Overview

The Intel Core i7-3615QM is a mobile (laptop) processor with 4 cores, released in 2012. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the 3rd Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1224 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Ivy Bridge-M" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 8 threads for improved parallelism. The Core i7-3615QM has a base clock of 2.3 GHz and can boost up to 3.3 GHz depending on workload and thermal headroom. Intel manufactures the "Ivy Bridge-M" silicon on a 22 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3/DDR3L memory. With a base TDP of 45W the Core i7-3615QM is a higher power envelope aimed at performance, gaming and workstation laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD Graphics 4000 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 6MB of L3 cache.
