Core i3-5020U

Intel · Core i3 · 2015 · FCBGA1168

Overview

The Intel Core i3-5020U is a mobile (laptop) processor with 2 cores, released in 2015. It is part of the Core i3 lineup, using the 5th Gen platform, and uses the FCBGA1168 package, which is soldered to the laptop's motherboard rather than socketed. Internally, it is built on the "Broadwell-U" architecture. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading, each core can handle two instruction streams simultaneously, yielding a total of 4 threads for improved parallelism. It operates at a fixed 2.2 GHz. Intel manufactures the "Broadwell-U" silicon on a 14 nm process node. This processor supports DDR3L/LPDDR3 memory. With a base TDP of 15W the Core i3-5020U is an ultra-low-power design aimed at thin-and-light laptops. Integrated graphics are provided by the HD Graphics 5500 solution, so a discrete GPU is not required for display output. The cache hierarchy includes 3MB of L3 cache.

Configurable TDP down to 10 W.
